And I used a lot of glue. What can I do to help my artificial nails stay on longer? They always end up coming off within the first day!?
Go find a good nail tech and have somone else do them. Mine last 2 or 3 weeks. What can I do to help my artificial nails stay on longer? They always end up coming off within the first day!?
Well, it sounds to me like you go and buy them and do it yourself...really the kits and stuff at the local grocery stores are not very reliable. They are very cheap and I am not surprised that they fall off within a day. I would indeed go get them done professionally(it's not that much more expensive) and they SHOULD stay on for 2 or 3 weeks..sometimes even a month..just depends on how much you work with your hands.
Also, you are not supposed to do alot with your hands anyways b/c the glue can take up to 24 hours to completely dry!
I am guessing your using a cheap over the counter brand that you can buy at CVS? They are not made for everyday wear... just for an event. I never had luck with them... just buy a better nail polish and try growing your out. I buy diamond nail repair from the beauty shop (Sally's)- it's like 13.00 a bottle but it last a long time and my nails look great and grow long.
sounds wierd but try rubbing vinegar onto your nails before you start glueing the fake ones on
Follow these steps, and your falsies will last longer
1.)Use a fine nail file or block and file the surface of the nail lightly. This will give the glue something to grab onto.
2.)Wash your hands thoroughly. Use soap and a nail brush.
3.)Moisten a cotton ball with acetone polish remover. Wipe all of your nails, and make sure that you remove any polish or glue still stuck on them. This also removes any oils or excess soap that will keep the glue from sticking.
4.)A thin layer of glue is all you need, usually a fine line near the tip and a dot or two near the base. If you use too much glue, then it won't stick as well. Hold the nail for five to ten seconds before moving on to the next one.
If you still have problems, go get them done. It can get very expensive, but so worth it. I suggest silk wrap or gel nails over acrylics, only because the acrylics are so much harder to remove and do a lot more damage to your nails. Also, NEVER go to a place that uses drills! You can seriously damage your cuticles, and if they don't follow the rules about drills, do you think they follow the rules about sanitation? Go to a reputable salon or spa, not a chop shop!
