What's your experience with artificial nails?

I'm thinking of getting artificial gel nails, mainly becasue they look more natural than acrylic nails. I also need them so I can try to STOP BITING my nails.





So what's your experience with fake nails? What's your favourite kind? Does it ruin the real nail underneath? Do you think it's worth it?


How often do you have to get a fill... and does it get expensive?

i have gotten gel nails. They are my favorite. However, they ruin your natural nails. Every time you go to get them filled they file down your real nail, making it extremely thin. It also gets really expensive! Mine was about 40 dollars the first time then 20 for each fill. Then cost 15 to take them off because I couldn't stand growing them out. I would only get them for a special occasion.





To try ot grow out your nails by the nail polish that tastes spicy. It stops you from biting them.What's your experience with artificial nails?
i love acrylic nails and have been getting them for over 5 years. yes they can get expensive, so if your looking for a good deal just call around to different shops in your area. my favorite kind is white tipped nails, and they have to sand down your real nail so yes it can do a little damage if your fake nails are ripped off. i got fake nails to help me stop biting my nails too, worked great. and for the fills you are supposed to go in every 2 weeks, but ive gone in and had mine done once a month when i was in school and they still looked fine.
I bite my nails too but when I got those fake nails from the salon place I almost died. Those things would not come off I thought I had no more nails left. And when they start to chip they don't look as good. I think you need to go back and they take them off for you. They look really nice though when you first get them. I decided to do it the old fashioned way and put this nasty tasting stuff on my nails.
i got them to stop biting mine and my nails were so short they would just fall off like a few days after they got put on. then i'd go around with like 8 nails on or something retarded like that. so i would suggest if you really want them, get the at home ones so you don't waste too much money:).
