I want to get artificial nails. What should I ask for at the salon?

What are the different styles and lengths? Is there anything else I should know?I want to get artificial nails. What should I ask for at the salon?
You can get acrylics or gel nails. Acrylics they sand and make your natural nail on top all gritty so that the nail glue and everything will stick. They feel a little crazy, but you can get them done pretty fast at a reasonable price. They can cut them to your desired length (what you're comfortable with)... with gel nails, they take a lot longer to put on, but they don't damage your natural nail as badly, plus they look a little more natural. With those they aren't just sticking a nail on your finger and off you go (they are a little more durable as well), what they do is they actually mold the nail onto your fingernail, and you put it under light to ';bake'; it, and then they can paint it afterwards to your desired color if they haven't made them as french manicure. Do not pay $70 for them to do gel nails, it's not how much it costs. The average I've seen is $40 for gel nails. Touch ups are rare and far between. I liked gel a lot better than acrylic. Someone who has done gel nails properly will have made them natural, and not thick. If your nails come out thick and uncomfortable or unattractive, ask her to keep filing or your money back! It's all on what feel you want, and what you are concerned about in the category of your real nails health.I want to get artificial nails. What should I ask for at the salon?
Solar nails are fantastic. they last a long long time and look perfect.

Of course, artificial nails are NEVER good for your natural nails. In order to wear them, the manicurist files down your natural nail, thus weakening it. Also, taking them off peels off another layer of your natural nail.
